Description
Offered is a distinctive Labor Day three-note world currency set, with the buyer receiving the complete group of three crisp uncirculated pieces. The set includes one 2023 Venezuela 500 Bolívar Digital note, widely described by collectors as the 500 Million Bolívar equivalent because of Venezuela’s six-zero monetary redenomination; one 10,000,000 IRR cheque; and one 2008 Zimbabwe 100 Trillion Dollars, AA prefix, Pick P-91. All three pieces are offered in crisp UNC condition.
The 2023 Venezuela 500 Bolívar Digital represents one of the larger denominations of the Bolívar Digital monetary era. Venezuela introduced the Bolívar Digital following another major currency redenomination in which six zeros were removed, making one new Bolívar Digital equivalent to one million units of the preceding currency. For collectors, this makes the 500-denomination note especially interesting because it corresponds to 500 million pre-redenomination bolívares. The note belongs to a period shaped by repeated monetary reforms and exceptionally high nominal values, making it a natural companion to other modern inflation-related currencies.
The 10,000,000 IRR cheque adds another form of high-denomination monetary paper to the set. Unlike a conventional banknote, this piece is issued in cheque format and represents a substantial nominal value intended to function as a practical cash-equivalent instrument. Its unusual format and eight-digit denomination provide an interesting contrast with the conventional banknotes included alongside it.
Completing the set is the famous 2008 Zimbabwe 100 Trillion Dollars, Pick P-91, AA prefix. Dated 2008 and issued during the final phase of Zimbabwe’s historic hyperinflation era, the note carries the extraordinary face value of 100,000,000,000,000 dollars. It became the highest denomination of Zimbabwe’s third-dollar series and remains one of the most recognizable hyperinflation banknotes ever produced. Its design incorporates Zimbabwe’s familiar balancing-rock imagery together with national landscape and wildlife elements associated with this celebrated series.
Together, these three pieces create a compelling study of modern high-denomination money: a Venezuelan note shaped by repeated redenomination, an unusual 10 Million IRR cheque, and the internationally recognized Zimbabwe 100 Trillion P-91. Presented as a complete three-note Labor Day set in crisp uncirculated condition, the group offers collectors three dramatically different examples of how monetary systems have responded to inflation, changing purchasing power, and the need for increasingly large denominations.
