2023 Venezuela 500 Million Bolívares Digitales Banknote UNC Pack (100 Notes) P-New Hyperinflation
A full, bank-wrapped pack of 100 consecutive, uncirculated Venezuela 500 bolívares digitales notes, the highest denomination of Venezuela’s bolívar digital series. Each note stands for 500,000,000 of the bolívares soberanos it replaced, which is why collectors call it the 500 Million. One pack represents 50 billion bolívares soberanos.
Design:
Issued by the Banco Central de Venezuela and dated 2023. The front carries the portrait of Simón Bolívar. The back marks the bicentennial of the 1823 Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, with the General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge that spans the lake.
Historical context:
Venezuela has redenominated its currency three times since 2008, removing fourteen zeros in all: three in 2008 (the bolívar fuerte), five in 2018 (the bolívar soberano) and six in 2021 (the bolívar digital). The 500 bolívares digitales is the newest chapter in that story and a tangible piece of modern monetary history.
