Description
1980s Yugoslavia 50 Dinara Socialist Payment Order – Pack of 100 Consecutive UNC Forms
Offered here is a pack of 100 consecutive, uncirculated interbank payment orders with a face value of 50 Dinara, issued by the Narodna Banka Jugoslavije (National Bank of Yugoslavia). These forms are pristine remnants of the centralized socialist banking infrastructure of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia—a rare and collectible find in full, untouched condition.
Unlike regular currency, these notes were used internally by banks and state enterprises for official transactions. This particular pack was never issued or circulated and remains crisp and fully intact, with each sheet perfectly preserved in UNC (uncirculated) condition.
Authenticity:
Guaranteed authentic, this is a complete stack of 100 consecutive sheets, all bearing the 50 DINARA denomination. These were printed for use in the 1980s or early 1990s, during the final years of socialist Yugoslavia.
Historical Significance:
This pack represents the administrative mechanics of a socialist economy, when physical forms were vital for accounting, planning, and payment between public entities. As the country edged toward disintegration in the early 1990s, such forms became obsolete, making surviving examples particularly significant to collectors and historians.
Design and Features:
-
Obverse (Front):
-
Prominent denomination: 50 Dinara, printed in deep red at bottom left.
-
National Emblem of Yugoslavia at center left, dated 29-XI-1943, commemorating the founding of the socialist state.
-
Multilingual text: Serbo-Croatian (Latin and Cyrillic), Slovene, and Macedonian, reflecting Yugoslavia’s federal composition.
-
Pre-printed accounting fields including:
-
“PLATITE ZA OVO” (Pay for this)
-
“IZVESTAJ” (Report)
-
“PO NAREDBI” (By Order)
-
“VREDNOST PRIMLJENA” (Value Received)
-
-
Fine geometric guilloche patterns in muted brown, salmon, and beige, embedded with anti-fraud features.
-
-
Reverse (Back):
-
Blank, intended for administrative endorsement or use by financial institutions.
-
Collector’s Value:
This full uncirculated pack of 100 socialist Yugoslav payment forms is a unique opportunity to own a tangible piece of Cold War-era bureaucracy. Perfect for collectors of socialist currency, banking history, or Balkan political transitions, this preserved pack offers not just nostalgic design but authentic documentation of a vanished system. Rarely found in complete, consecutive sets, especially in UNC condition, this is a standout archival item.
